Hidden Treasure

James woke up St. Patrick’s Day morning excited and ready to head out into the yard in search of gold. He was sure the Leprechaun’s had hidden gold under the rocks in our yard. Out we went searching… no gold! James was in complete disbelief. He just knew gold had to be around somewhere, I mean it was St. Patrick’s Day!

I was sharing my story with some friends at school and one of these amazing gals, who is Irish I might add, went right to work! James came home from his day at school ready to search again… and to his surprise, he found a Leprechaun’s Treasure Box

and gold; lots and lots of gold!

and they were better than regular old gold, these were chocolate-filled gold coins!

The look on James’ face when he found the treasure box (filled with the colors of the Irish flag) and all those chocolate coins, was priceless.

!!A very BIG thank you to my good friend, Colleen the Leprechaun!!

Celebrating Stephanie

Happy Birthday Stephanie Ann!

– March 15th –

We had a houseful to help celebrate Stephanie’s special day! Abbie and Chandler decorated the house…

Mom and I made the FUN Poodle cake. Mom found the idea in my Family Fun magazine.

Another great day of family & fun!

Home

James has been home sick all week. Josh and I have been sharing days home. I love staying home, Josh not so much. If only he could give me his sick days! Max has loved having people home with him all day.

Here they are… Brothers

Beautiful Boy ~ Beautiful Flowers ~ Picture Perfect!

Max sits in the living room and barks as the petals flutter from these trees. When I brought these stems in, he was very curious and cautious.

Days home with James call for some baking…

Spring

…SPRING IS HERE,

Check out our yard & what we’ve been up to…

Our fragrant cherry trees are blooming! We were not in our house last year at this time, so we did not see yard as Winter moved into Spring… it’s bright, beautiful, and smells wonderful!

These little wind-twirlies add fun and color to the front of the house.

While waiting for Max at the groomers the other day, James and I decided to go flower shopping. We picked out primroses and planted them out front to add some pretty color. He was a big help for about 2 minutes then was side-tracked by spiders and bugs.

We had a pool-guy come give us a bid for a new liner in the pool. He had some exciting patterns for liners, just a little more expensive than traditional blue… these are the ones we thought were kind of cool. Josh now thinks he might be able to do the liner on his own, which would be a huge $$ savings!

Last Sunday we saw Ariel play a part in Disney’s Beauty & the Beast. The show was amazing with the effects, costumes, and talent. A good time.

James worked and worked and was able to cut open this cantalope with a butter knife.

Here he works very patiently to get this dragon painted up just right.

Josh made these up for us one night… a great taste of Spring!

Cannon Beach

We had a four day weekend over President’s Day, so we packed up the motorhome in a rainstorm and headed to the beach! Somewhere on Hwy 26 I realized I had left the camera on the kitchen counter. I was so sad. This was Max’s 1st big trip and his first experience with the ocean, sand, camping… it was such a fun trip with the most amazing moments and no camera to capture the memories.

Friday was rainy and windy. We enjoyed a traditional camp-out dinner of hamburgers, relaxed a bit, then snuggled in for a movie and some popcorn!

Abbie and Chandler playing Battleship.

Max and Mishka getting to know each other. They became good friends as the weekend went on…

Saturday was another day of rain with a few sun breaks. Welcome to the Oregon Coast! Josh, Max, and I went for the best jog on the beach. We ran about 3 miles both along the beach and in the sand. We took turns holding Max’s leash as he pulled us along when we were feeling tired!

The Picard Family surprised us around lunch time! They showed up with the trailer packed, ready for some fun! We walked into Cannon Beach to play in the sand, grab a latte, and of course most importantly a visit to the local candy-shop! I always het a piece of sea foam and this time I splurged on a caramel-dipped apple. That night we enjoyed a hanging by the fire and visiting into the late hours of night.

Sunday was bright, sunny, beautiful and time to go home… we decided we could not pass up such a perfect day at the beach so we stayed one more night!

Wish I had a picture of Max digging on the beach. He would dig and dig and then jump in the hole and lay there very proud of his efforts! Camera moment for sure.

Harris House

Wendy this post is for you!

Steph, Derek, and the Girls are in the process of purchasing a home. As usual, the process is slower than anticipated… but as you will see, well worth the wait.

The house sits in a lovely Camas neighborhood.

James’ New Pet

Our family friends, The Picard family, recently offered James their Leopard Gecko. Their kids had pretty much out grown it, and they were tired of running by Petco to buy crickets. Since we run by Petco and buy crickets weekly (for the frog) we agreed to take on yet another critter.

James and the no-named Gecko pet. He is very friendly.

No-name in his new habitat.

Weekend News

This weekend was wonderful… relaxing, got lots done, spent time with family.

took some fun pictures of the kids still wearing their matching Christmas jammies.

james. amara. max. hanging out and playing on our bed.

abbie taking care of her sweet baby-girl, Scrunchy Bug.

This dried fruit is FABULOUS. We found it at Costco and it’s truly heavenly. Dipped in dark chocolate makes it even more special.

Good Times

The weekend passed too quickly and too full of responsibilities. Last night, I rushed home to put on a roast. I planned a Family Night. Just us. It was nice. Relaxing. We had down-time. The roast was tasty.

We played Yahtzee. It was a little loud for me. I need the old-school leather covered dice cup!

James and Max played a round, but quickly moved onto other things more exciting!

I love Family Nights. We need more of them.

Pacific University: Tournament II

Up before the rising sun, Josh, Abbie, and Chandler were packing up snacks, drinks, pillows, and blankets and heading out the door for the long car ride to the 2nd Tournament of the Club Volleyball Season!

The girls played hard. had fun. took 5th.

Keep playin’ hard Wildcats!
